The Sandwich Park District offers a wide variety of travel programs for adults. Whether you enjoy plays or dinner theater, shopping trips or casinos, there is something for everyone! Our program coordinator, Christine McMahon, will act as your hostess and will make sure you have an enjoyable experience, whatever you choose.

LUNCH BUNCH - GENERAL INFORMATION

Register for our Lunch Bunch outings and enjoy food, fun and fellowship. Each trip is a wonderful opportunity to try different restaurants you might not venture to on your own. Our fee includes park district van transportation and escort. The meal cost and gratuity are "on your own". As time permits, browsing in area shops is included. NOTE: A step stool is used to enter and exit the park district van.

Burgers, city-style, at this newer Geneva, IL restaurant never tasted so good! According to the restaurant's owner, the most popular food in the United States is the hamburger. A menu was created to glorify the burger and it is offered in a myriad of ways. Choose between beef, turkey, salmon, chicken breast, or organic veggie and then choose how to have it cooked. . .wood-fire grill, char-broil, or simply grill it! Now choose your bread. . . specialty white, wheat, ciabatta, or focaccia. Then choose between 17 cheeses, a sauce and toppings. Other sandwiches, salads, pizza and specialty entrees are available also. Prices range from $7.95 for sandwiches to $20.95 for entrees.

New to the Chicago-land Area, this upscale restaurant has a focused menu of classic American fare. Everything is made from scratch. Menu selections include classic burgers, traditional chicken, prime rib, club sandwiches, a variety of salads, wood-fired BBQ ribs, filet, rib eye steaks, rotisserie chicken, salmon, trout, crab cakes and more. Prices range from $10 for sandwiches to $18 to $23 for entrees. The white chocolate dessert selections include French white chocolate bread pudding, white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, white chocolate banana cream pie, and the white chocolate brownie; all priced between $7 and $8.

Meson Sabika is located on a four-acre estate near downtown Naperville. The restaurant offers an unmatched dining experience. Guests will find that each item on the menu offers a taste of Spain. Enjoy hot and cold tapas, sangria, an entree, dessert and more. Listed are just a couple hot and cold tapas - "Tortilla Espanola", a Spanish omelet - "Quesos Espanoles", an assortment of Spanish cheeses served with red grapes and sliced apples; "Patatas Con Alioli", the specialty robusts garlic potato salad; "Crepe Rellena", a crepe filled with goat cheese, pine nuts, spinach and apples; "Gambas al Ajillo", grilled tiger shrimp with lemon garlic butter. Prices range from $5.25 to $7.50 for each tapas. The menu offers 10 or more tapas, both cold and hot, plus larger entrees, desserts, wines and specialty coffees.

This newer restaurant located on Route 59 offers diners a large variety of traditional Italian dishes, sandwiches, and salads. A half and half lunch combination features a choice of two of the following - one of four homemade sups, unlimited refills; choice of a house, Caesar, spinach, wedge or dressing salad; unlimited refills or select half sandwich of choice. The lunch menu also includes pizza and pastas. Prices range from $4.00 to $8.99 for salads and sandwiches and $8.99 to $12.99 for entrees. Desserts include Tiramisu, Creme Brulee, Bananas Foster, Lemon Tower Cake and more. All dessert prices run between $5.99 and $7.99

WHITE PINES "CHRISTMAS AMONG THE STARS Oregon, Illinois

See some of the old time favorites by impersonator and comedian Frank Cisani. This comedy performance features Frank as Jimmy Durante, Liberace, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and George Burns in routines and songs from past Christmas shows. The wonderful White Pines buffet is included in this day away.

The beauty and splendor of the majestic Smokey Mountains for 6 wonderful days! I & M CANAL BOAT TOUR

New! Travel back to 1848 on the LaSalle I & M Canal boat. Ride in a historic full-size replica canal boat pulled by mules along the towpath, as it was when early Illinois settlers were passengers. A hearty lunch is included at Starved Rock. A step-on guide will narrate a tour of the area with stops at the Starved Rock Visitors Center, Illinois Waterway and the town of Utica, with a short stop at an Alpaca farm. Participants will have time to explore the gift shops at the I & M Canal and Starved Rock Lodge.

Prepare for an afternoon of song, food and fun! A good time for everyone! International musical entertainment includes some European songs with good old-fashion American standards to sing along with and even dance to. THE DANCING HORSES Delevan, Wisconsin

Participants will be amazed! Several different breeds of horses are featured that will grace the arena with their own style. Each horse is powerful and majestic, in superb physical shape, very agile and highly intelligent and of course just simply beautiful! Just like the title says, the horsed do dance. Each performance is choreographed and costumed. . . . a spectacular revue with all the elements of a Las Vegas show. The finale ends with the Dancing Waters, a kaleidoscope show production of water igniting into fountains of lights and special effects leaving the audience spellbound. An Antiquer's Delight!! This antique and flea market is one of the Midwest's greatest shows. Over 500 dealers are a part of the market offering a large range of merchandise from furniture in-the-rough to fine refinished. There is also glassware, pottery, advertising paraphernalia, linens, decoys, dolls and everything in between. Vendors are located throughout the Walworth County Fairgrounds utilizing space in buildings and in the grassy area along the paved walkways. This trip provides transportation and entrance fees to the antique market. Meals are "on your own". Food vendors offer a large variety of snacks, sandwiches, turkey legs, corn and more!

Today these magnificent places are open to everyone!. This tour is guided by "My Kind of Town" tours. Plenty of time will be allowed at Millenium Park to accommodate those with slower walking ability. Park benches can be utilized often during the tour, as well. (Of course, our first stop off the bus will be the washrooms!) Lunch is included in a beautiful atrium setting surrounded by a waterfall, towering green plants, sculptures and sunlight. Holy Cow! It's another great day at Wrigley Field. Join in the fun rooting the Cubbies to victory. This trip includes terrace reserve seats and deluxe motorcoach transportation. Participants will depart from the motorcoach on Waveland Avenue, within a block of the Gate "K" entrance. An elevator is available for those with limited walking ability. A short distance from the entrance, once on the second floor, cement stairs (without handrails) are used to access the seats in the terrace reserve area.

Chicago's Oriental Theater

This musical production closes to Chicago audiences in January. Included in this trip is main floor orchestra seating and transportation. This trip provides van transportation only and is open to the first 12 that register. NOTE: A step stool is used to enter and exit the van.

Leave the driving and parking headaches to us! The perfect time of year to visit the Windy City. Participants are "on their own" to explore a museum, view the window displays, sight see, dine at their favorite restaurant, or shop til you drop. This is a whole day adventure, allowing plenty of time for your curiosity to run wild. . . how about the IMAX Theater at Navy Pier? The motorcoach will make two stops, the first being in the State Street area and second at Watertower Place. Times and locations will be announced on the motorcoach.
