Enhance your movie going experience! Get familiar with "War Horse" by Michael Morpurgo and "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins before or after seeing the big screen versions. We will explore each novel together and discuss the story elements. Each book club will meet 2 times for each designated book. If you love to read or are just interested in these book selections, this is a program for you. Join the club for one or both of the books. The price of the novel is included in the fee.

Keep It Fresh. . Your Mind That Is!
Kids, let's not let our brains get lazy this summer! Everyone knows you have to use it or you'll lose it. We will spend an hour each week exercising our brains with trivia contests, timed skill sets in mathematics, grammar exercises, reading, writing and study skills. Be ready for the start of school! If there is a specific area or concept that you would like to work on, please let the instructor know so it can be included. This program meets on Tuesdays for four weeks.

Kids! This is just the beginning. Find out what it is like in the kitchen; it may lead you to becoming the next "Iron Chef". Learn how to make these favorite and simple recipes using basic everyday ingredients. You will learn how to make yourself a quick after-school snack or a meal for your whole family! Please bring a container to take home leftovers, if there are any! All ingredient supplies are included. Register for one class or all four!

This program will be outside, so plan to dress for the weather. Please bring a water bottle. We will take a break for a quick snack. Each participant will take home a small bouncy ball. Parents, please plan to stay and play.

Hear ye! Hear ye! All the youth of the kingdom are formally invited to join us for a Princess Party! It's certain to be a royally good time. Enjoy a fun time pretending to be a princess! Wear your favorite princess dress-up clothes. Everyone will make a special princess hat to wear. Enjoy a tea party of mini sandwiches and punch. Parents, please plan to stay and play.

Go Green! We will meet once a week to explore our natural world and learn ways we can enhance and maintain it. Activities include recycling, gardening, nature walks and animal investigations including observations and animal track identification. We will explore the nature we find right in our own backyard; trees, leaves, plants, flowers and animals. The cost includes a t-shirt and gardening gloves. Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, including comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. We will meet rain or shine. This program meets at Knights Park on June 25 and July 2 and at Harvey Creek Conservation Area, located on Lions Road west of Dayton Street in Sandwich on July 10 and July 16. Participants need to bring a water bottle. This activity meets four times.
