Fall Softball
Attention all Sandwich Girls Softball Players-
In a continuing effort to provide girls ample opportunities to play we again are offering a fall softball league. Girls can register for their respective age divisions beginning June 24th. Here are some of the details:
Cost $25 in district/$35 out of district (includes registration fee and jersey)
Dates Sundays- September 18th, September 25, October 1, October 2, October 9, October 16
Game time 12 noon
# of games 6-8-This will depend on the number of teams, but expect to play at least 2 double headers
Structure INSTRUCTIONAL-The goal is to work on specific skill sets with girls to help them become better softball players. No standings are kept and opportunities will be presented for coaches to instruct during games. Girls will get to experience new positions and learn new techniques.
Coaches Volunteer coaches as always are appreciated. If a girl would like to request a specific coach, please note it on the registration form.

ATTENTION NIPL COACHES:
The Sandwich Park District will be hosting a fall softball league for 10U, 12U and 14U divisions that will strictly focus on development of players. This league will play on four (4) Sundays in September and October and offer each team the opportunity to play in six games at Milestone Park in Sandwich. Games will have a 1.5 hour limit imposed and should be viewed as an opportunity for your girls to play different positions, work with coaches on game situations, and, most importantly, learn and play under the rules of the divisions (new rules for girls moving up a division).
The age division breakdown is as follows:
10U - Must be 10 or under by September 1, 2012 - Focus on skill development. Games will last 6 innings or 1.5 time limit.
12U - Must be 12 or under by September 1, 2012 - Develop pitchers from 40' distance using 12" ball, learn proper base running techniques. Games will last either 7 innings or 1.5 hours (whichever comes first) and will have a 5 run per inning max.
14U - Must be 14 or under by September 1, 2012 - Teach girls new to the age division infield fly and drop third strike rule. Games will last either 7 innings or 1.5 hours (whichever comes first) and will have a 7 run per inning max.
No standings or scores will be reported. There will be no tournament or trophies, either. Again, THE PRIMARY GOAL OF THIS LEAGUE IS TO ASSIST IN PLAYER DEVELOPMENT.
The cost for this program is $200 per team. This includes one umpire per game, insurance and field maintenance. (Teams are not required to have their own insurance). Uniforms are up to the individual teams.
Registration and rosters are due to the Sandwich Park District by August 12th.
Each division will be limited to 6-8 teams so be sure to sign up ASAP. Also, sign up for the division you will be playing for next season, not the current one.
If girls do not have a team to play on, the Sandwich Park District will be accepting registration for all girls who want to sign up. The registration fee is $35 per girl, which covers their league fee and the cost of a jersey.
