James Knights Park is one of the most popular parks in the Sandwich Park District system.  This five acre park, purchased in 1970, is located in the northeast section of the City of Sandwich and has recreational opportunities for all ages.  The main park office building, the David A Francis Center, is situated in the southeast corner of the park and was built in 1991.  An additional room was added in 2001 to house the popular "Mother Goose Club" preschool program.

Two playground areas were rejuvenated in 2000 and feature equipment appropriate for ages toddler through 12 years.  A sand volleyball court and one basketball court are also open for public use on a daily basis.  Spring and fall soccer games are practiced and played in this park each year.

The open air shelter provides picnic tables for our guests and a great place to relax while watching a soccer game.  The shelter may be used for gatherings on a first come, first served basis.  Portable toilets are provided during the summer
